Your aerobic exercise capacity is linked to how healthy you are and how long you will live. Aerobic exercise is long duration, low intensity exercise that consumes oxygen (jogging, vigorous walking, exercise that gets your respiration and heart rate up). Strength training and intense short distance intense running are consider anaerobic exercise.

Researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology have shown that show that innate exercise capacity can be linked to longevity. So low aerobic exercise capacity is a strong predictor of shorter lifespans. How did they figure it out? They used rats…
